Welcome To PCEA Tumaini Kids

Tumaini Children’s Home is a project of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA), St. Andrew’s Parish, Woman’s Guild, Nairobi. The woman’s Guide is a fellowship of women believers with a calling to help the less privileged and needy in the church and the community at large.

The Home has been in existence for the last ten years. It opened its doors to the pioneer children on 15th December 2000. This was after a prayerful period of over three years where by the members of the Woman’s Guild were seeking God for a long –term project/ ministry. This period coincide with pronouncement of HIV/AIDS as a national disaster by the Government of Kenya in 1999. The Guild got a conviction to care for a special niche of AIDS orpahs who are also HIV positive.

Tumaini Children Home admits confirmed HIV positive orphans and vulnerable children. The entry age is 3 to 5 years.A Board of Trustees comprising the Parish Moderator, who is the chaplain, and appointed representatives from the church and the Woman’s Guide, manage the Home.

The Home is situated at EI Bulbul in Ngong, Kajiado District, and approximately 20 kilometers from Nairobi City centre.
